چکیده

, is one of the considerable vector-borne diseases widely distributed all over world. The extensive use synthetic insecticides caused various human health hazardous, insect resistance and environmental pollution. As an alternative control strategy, nanoparticle applications in management are mandatory. Mainly, aim this current study to elucidate toxic effect copper oxide nanoparticles (CuONPs) on larval tissues Culex pipiens regarding histological cellular damage aspects. lethal concentrations LC10, LC25, LC50 LC90 were determined from established regression log concentrate-response lines after 24 hours treatment. Four replicates considered for each concentration where twenty-five third instar larvae involved replicate. Results revealed significant increase mortality rate upon increasing which recorded 0.040, 0.099, 0.268 1.767 mg/ ml LC 25, LC50, respectively. Data showed a enzyme levels namely, lipid peroxidase nitric oxide, decrease total protein while, albumin proportions detected tissue homogenates treated mentioned CuONPs concentrations. Meanwhile, studies implied severe deterioration architecture increases markedly as well. In conclusion, deteriorate structure render them promising smart larvicidal agents.

Genetic differences between Culex pipiens f. molestus and Culex pipiens pipiens (Diptera: Culicidae) in New York.

The definition and phylogenetic placement of the autogenous molestus form of Culex pipiens has puzzled entomologists for decades. We identified genetic differences between Cx. p. pipiens (L.) and Cx. pipiens f. molestus Forskål in the SH60 fragment described previously. Single-strand conformation polymorphism analysis, cloning, and sequencing of this fragment demonstrated high polymorphism with...

The Morphological Variations of Culex pipiens Larvae (Diptera: Culicidae) in Yazd Province, Central Iran

BACKGROUND Culex pipiens complex shows variations in morphological and biological characters including different biological forms and has medical and veterinary importance. Because of having morphological variations, sometimes it is not easy to separate this species from Cx. quinquefasciatus and Cx. torrentium. The aim of this study was to identify the Culex pipiens complex species in order to ...

Bioefficacy of Some Egyptian Aromatic Plants on Culex pipiens (Diptera: Culicidae) Adults and Larvae

BACKGROUND Protecting the environment from chemical hazards of synthetic insecticides along with offering of new breeding areas for vectors by urbanization indicate the trial of natural insecticides. METHODS The acetone extracts of Anethum graveolens, Ocimum basilicum and Thymus vulgaris were tested for their insecticidal effect on Culex pipiens adults and larvae in different concentrations d...

Genetic differentiation of Culex pipiens (Diptera: Culicidae) in China.

The population genetic structures of Culex pipiens Linnaeus were evaluated in China over a 2000 km transect that encompasses the two subspecies, C. p. pallens and C. p. quinquefasciatus. Four polymorphic allozyme loci were investigated in 1376 mosquitoes sampled from 20 populations across four provinces. These loci were not statistically dependent with no apparent heterozygote deficit or excess...

Larvicidal Activity of Nerium oleander against Larvae West Nile Vector Mosquito Culex pipiens (Diptera: Culicidae)

Background. Outbreaks of the West Nile virus infection were reported in Morocco in 1996, 2003, and 2010. Culex pipiens was strongly suspected as the vector responsible for transmission. In the North center of Morocco, this species has developed resistance to synthetic insecticides. There is an urgent need to find alternatives to the insecticides as natural biocides. Objective. In this work, the...
